Occupying 21 hectares of protected forest and shoreline in Glyfada, One&Only Aesthesis revives the golden age of the Athenian Riviera through seafront bungalows, private pool villas and a remarkable resort landscape within easy reach of Athens.

This is a place with history beneath the polish. The Athenian Riviera became synonymous with cosmopolitan summers and seaside glamour during the middle of the twentieth century, and Aesthesis draws confidently on that era without turning it into nostalgia. Low architecture slips between mature pines, pathways meander towards the water and broad terraces open to the Saronic Gulf, creating a resort that feels unusually established in its landscape.

The scale is considerable, yet the estate has been planned to preserve a sense of discovery. Gardens, woodland and stretches of coast separate its different areas, with pools and restaurants appearing between the trees rather than dominating them. Athens may be close, but once inside the grounds the overriding impression is of a proper Mediterranean resort with the sea at the centre of daily life.

Interiors reinterpret Riviera glamour through timber, stone, woven details and softly curved furniture, with large windows and outdoor living spaces keeping the surrounding landscape firmly connected to the rooms.

The seafront bungalows are particularly seductive, many with private pools only moments from the water, while larger suites provide one, two and three bedroom configurations for families and friends. Villas including Kyma, Gaia, Ilios and Nostos take privacy further still, creating substantial residences within the resort with their own pools and generous outdoor spaces.

Dining gives Aesthesis much of its cosmopolitan character. Ora by Ettore Botrini celebrates Greek and Mediterranean ingredients with the acclaimed chef's refined approach, while Alelia draws inspiration from Greek culinary traditions in a relaxed setting shaped around produce and seasonality.

Manko Athens brings a livelier beachfront mood, while Sumosan Athens adds its distinctive contemporary Japanese cooking to the collection. Minima completes a line up with enough variety to make dining within the resort genuinely interesting, whether the occasion calls for a leisurely waterside lunch, something more polished in the evening or drinks that continue well beyond sunset.

Experience

The Riviera lifestyle comes properly into its own outdoors. A private beach area and swimming pool anchor days beside the water, while tennis, cycling and water sports offer plenty of alternatives to the sun loungers. The extensive grounds mean there is room for both activity and privacy, with the pine shaded landscape providing a welcome counterpoint to the open shoreline.

Families are exceptionally well catered for, with a children's pool, kids' club and dedicated indoor and outdoor play areas alongside babysitting services. It allows Aesthesis to work equally well for couples disappearing into a private pool bungalow and families settling into one of the larger suites or villas for a longer Riviera stay.
