Unda

Roda, Corfu

On the beachfront at Roda on Corfu's northern coast, Unda is a contemporary island retreat where bohemian interiors, private and swim up pools, ambitious dining and a dedicated wellness sanctuary are shaped around life beside the Ionian Sea. Water is central to the identity of Unda, right down to its name, taken from the Latin word for wave. The architecture and landscaping draw the resort towards the coast, with pools, gardens and open terraces creating a succession of outdoor spaces before the property finally meets the beach. Natural textures and a relaxed bohemian influence soften the contemporary design, giving the hotel a character that feels particularly at home in Corfu. The result is a resort built for long days outdoors. Furnished terraces extend the rooms into the landscape, pools weave through parts of the accommodation and the beach provides an entirely different place to settle in for the afternoon. As evening approaches, the Ionian setting becomes especially beautiful, with Corfu's westward light bringing a warmer atmosphere to the bars and terraces. para-2 Rooms and suites move from elegant doubles to substantial private pool accommodation, with sea, pool and garden outlooks bringing variety across the collection. Interiors combine contemporary simplicity with bohemian and ethnic influences, using tactile materials and warm natural details to create spaces that feel relaxed rather than overly formal. Swim up Junior Suites open directly onto the water, while other categories introduce private whirlpools and terraces with sea views. The Signature Suite with Private Pool offers the greatest sense of seclusion, although the broad choice of private pool, swim up and whirlpool accommodation means outdoor living is a significant part of the experience throughout the resort. para-3 Unda takes its food seriously, with three restaurants giving the resort a surprisingly broad culinary identity. Phýō is rooted in Mediterranean flavours, sustainability and wellbeing, with a plant forward menu built around organic and locally sourced ingredients. Pietra moves into more refined territory under award winning chef Miltos Armenis, interpreting the clarity of Mediterranean cooking through a contemporary lens. Nami brings something completely different with its Nikkei menu, marrying Japanese and Peruvian influences in the resort's newest dining experience. Aionáō, Térrō and Rhéō provide three distinct places for drinks, from cocktails with horizon views to easy poolside refreshments throughout the day. para-4 The beachfront setting gives days at Unda an uncomplicated rhythm. Guests can move between the Ionian Sea, swimming pools and their own private or swim up pool, with landscaped gardens and outdoor lounging areas providing quieter spaces in between. The beach is right in front of the resort, making swimming and time beside the water part of everyday life rather than an excursion. Roda and northern Corfu provide plenty of possibilities beyond the hotel, while the resort itself is equally suited to days spent entirely by the coast. Yoga and fitness add structure when wanted, with the open air spaces allowing both to remain connected to the landscape. para-5 The Coastal Wellness Sanctuary takes its inspiration from the movement of the Ionian Sea, bringing together spa rituals and therapeutic treatments with a broader emphasis on restoration and wellbeing. Treatments are complemented by yoga and fitness, creating a wellness programme that feels closely tied to Unda's wider philosophy of water, movement and time outdoors. para-6 Unda sits directly on the coast at Roda, placing guests beside the sea while providing an excellent base for discovering northern Corfu. Traditional villages, beaches and the island's beautiful northern landscapes are within easy reach, while returning to the resort brings the focus straight back to the water and the slower rhythm of the Ionian coast.

Parilio

Kolimpithres, Paros

Parīlio is a quietly sophisticated all-suite retreat on the edge of Naoussa where sculptural Cycladic design, deeply private spaces and a slower rhythm of island life give Paros one of its most distinctive luxury stays. Set across a series of low-slung sandstone-toned buildings, the hotel unfolds around a broad central courtyard where the oversized pool, shaded terraces and open-air lounge spaces anchor almost every part of the property. Thick rendered walls, curved edges, monolithic forms and hand-finished textures draw heavily from the Cycladic landscape, though interpreted with a far more contemporary restraint than the whitewashed island aesthetic seen elsewhere across Paros. The layout feels deliberate and enclosed, with shaded walkways, planted courtyards and softly lit transitional spaces replacing the more exposed, outward-facing style common on the island. Rather than relying on dramatic sea views or large resort theatrics, Parīlio builds its atmosphere through proportion, stillness and privacy, creating a hotel that feels composed from the moment you arrive and entirely connected to the slower character of this side of Paros. para-2 The 33 suites continue the same warm minimalism, combining built-in furnishings, pale natural materials and muted earthy tones with layouts that place equal emphasis on indoor and outdoor living. Large terraces extend directly from the suites, many with oversized daybeds and lounge areas that feel genuinely usable throughout the day rather than simply decorative additions to the rooms. Higher categories such as the Halo Suite, Aurora Suite and Eclipse Suite introduce more generous living space and greater seclusion, while the Jupiter Villa and Aurelia Villa shift the stay towards something more residential altogether. Several suites include separate lounge areas, dining space and kitchen facilities, though the overall feel remains consistent throughout — calm, uncluttered and carefully balanced without losing warmth or comfort. para-3 Dining centres around Mr. E, the hotel’s signature restaurant led by Michelin-starred chef Thanos Feskos, where contemporary Greek and Mediterranean cooking draws heavily on seasonal produce and local ingredients from across the Cyclades. Tables spread out around the courtyard beneath soft evening lighting, giving dinner service a relaxed elegance that suits the slower pace of the hotel perfectly. Parōn brings a lighter, more informal atmosphere during the day, moving between long lunches, cocktails and smaller sharing plates in a setting that feels effortlessly social without ever becoming busy or overstated. The pool bar remains active throughout the afternoon with fresh juices, wine, cocktails and lighter dishes, though everything still revolves around the central courtyard, reinforcing the sense that the hotel functions as one connected space rather than a collection of separate venues. para-4 Life at Parīlio revolves around the courtyard pool, where oversized loungers, shaded corners and broad terraces create a setting that feels intentionally unhurried from morning through to late afternoon. The atmosphere stays remarkably calm even in high season, helped by the all-suite layout and the way the property naturally disperses guests across its outdoor spaces. Yoga sessions, wellness treatments, guided island experiences, cooking classes and bicycle excursions can all be arranged through the hotel, though the emphasis remains firmly on slowing down rather than filling the day with activity. Kolymbithres Beach and the coastline around Naoussa are only a short drive away, allowing guests to move easily between the quieter rhythm of the hotel and the livelier energy of the harbour, beaches and waterfront tavernas. para-5 The Elios Spa continues the hotel’s restrained aesthetic with softly lit treatment rooms, natural textures and a wellness programme focused on restorative therapies and holistic treatments. Sauna facilities, massage treatments, beauty rituals and tailored wellness experiences sit alongside yoga sessions and personal training, while the fitness studio maintains the same understated, residential feel found throughout the rest of the property. para-6 Parīlio sits just outside Naoussa on the north-west coast of Paros, around 1.6 km from Kolymbithres Beach and approximately 2.7 km from the harbour, restaurants and nightlife of Naoussa town. Paros National Airport is around 18 km away, placing the hotel within easy reach of the island’s main arrival point while still feeling distinctly removed from the busier summer centres.

Gundari

Petousis, Folegandros

High on the cliffs of Folegandros, Gundari occupies 100 acres of wild Cycladic landscape, with private pool suites and villas sunk into the earth and an immense Aegean horizon that gives this remarkable retreat its sense of drama. There are places where the hotel is the destination and others where the landscape remains firmly in charge. Gundari belongs to the latter. The land is raw, open and elemental, falling towards cliffs and an uninterrupted expanse of sea, while the architecture sits low against the ground in the earthy colours of Folegandros rather than the brilliant white more readily associated with the Cyclades. That relationship with the landscape is beautifully handled. Stone, rock and muted surfaces allow much of the resort to almost disappear from certain angles, leaving terraces and pools facing nothing but sea and sky. There is no conventional resort centre demanding attention. Instead, Gundari feels deliberately scattered across its extraordinary site, giving each suite or villa its own piece of the island. para-2 Every suite comes with an outdoor private pool and sea view, beginning with the Standard and Junior Suites before moving through the Executive, Deluxe and Superior Cave Suites. The cave categories push further into Gundari’s architectural idea, using the earth itself to create cool, sheltered interiors that open dramatically onto terraces, pools and the Aegean. The emphasis is firmly outside. Interiors use restrained materials and a palette drawn from the surrounding rock, but it is the transition through wide openings to the terrace that defines the rooms. Your private pool sits between the suite and the horizon, making the sea feel less like a view from the room and more like part of the living space. For families or friends travelling together, the three and four bedroom Cliff Front Villas take the experience to another level of scale and privacy. Their exposed positions, generous terraces and private pools make them exceptional places to share, particularly when the light begins to change over the water towards the end of the day. para-3 Orizon is the culinary heart of Gundari, with the restaurant drawing on Mediterranean flavours and local ingredients while remaining closely connected to the landscape around it. Breakfast is served à la carte and meals unfold against the same wide Aegean panorama that accompanies the rest of the stay. The intimacy of having one principal restaurant suits Gundari. Food feels part of the wider experience of Folegandros rather than a collection of competing concepts, with cooking classes and local cultural experiences providing another route into the island and its traditions. The bar carries the day naturally into evening, and this is a setting where lingering comes easily. As the heat drops and the colours across the cliffs soften, there is little need for anything more elaborate than a good drink and an unobstructed horizon. para-4 Gundari makes sense when you engage with the landscape around it. Walking and hiking are among the best ways to understand Folegandros, with its dry stone walls, ancient paths, remote coastline and stark interior creating a Cycladic landscape that still feels wonderfully untouched. Guided walks and cultural experiences can bring more context to the island, while snorkelling and diving shift the perspective from cliffs to sea. The seasonal outdoor pool provides another magnificent place to stop, with sun terraces facing the Aegean, while the fitness centre offers a more structured option between excursions. Car hire and shuttle services make it possible to venture further across Folegandros before returning to the seclusion of the estate. Yet some of the best hours here require very little planning. Gundari has the space and silence to make staying put feel like an experience in itself, whether that means a long afternoon beside your private pool or simply watching the light move across a landscape with almost nothing to interrupt it. para-5 Wellness feels particularly natural in a place this removed from everyday life. The spa offers massages, beauty treatments and wellness programmes, while yoga takes full advantage of the stillness and open surroundings. Fitness facilities are available too, allowing days to move easily between activity and complete retreat. It is the setting, however, that gives wellbeing here its real character. Space, sea air and the extraordinary quiet of this part of Folegandros do much of the work before a treatment has even begun. para-6 Gundari is located at Petousis on Folegandros, occupying a secluded cliffside estate away from the island’s more settled areas. Folegandros is reached by ferry from neighbouring Cycladic islands and the Greek mainland, making the journey itself part of arriving somewhere that feels genuinely removed from the everyday.
